Band Identity

Goblyns, a psychedelic groove trio originally from South Africa, needed a visual identity that would reflect their unique sound and help them stand out. With bold, bright colors, overprinting, misregistration, and a playful approach, we created a distinctive visual style that matches the energy and creativity of their music.

We've worked on a wide range of assets for the band, including single covers, album artwork, posters, merchandise, visualizers, and music videos—pretty much everything a band could imagine and more. Given the lightness and fun inherent in their music, we sought to reflect that energy in their visuals, occasionally drawing inspiration from the whimsical style of vintage cartoons.

For the full-length music video The Gardener, we created a world that unfolds with the album, giving viewers the sensation of embarking on a heist. We drew inspiration from diverse architectural styles and embraced a vintage futuristic aesthetic, transitioning into a psychedelic realm before pulling back into the journey across different worlds. 

Throughout the project, the goal was to ensure that every piece of visual content felt cohesive and immersive, much like the band’s music. Whether through animated visuals or album artwork, each element captures the spirit of Goblyns—bold, experimental, and full of life.
