K2

Illustration for Skis

We collaborated with K2 Skis on the Omen series illustrations, merging art and sport into a unique visual experience. Working closely with Brad Walters, K2’s Art Director, we developed designs that captured the essence of motion, even when the skis were still. This concept came to life through sequential framing, creating an illusion of movement as the skier carves down the mountain.

The Omen series is distinguished by its vibrant, unconventional color palette, chosen deliberately to contrast with the pure white of the snow. These bold hues not only draw attention but challenge traditional ski design, resulting in artwork that makes a striking statement on the slopes.

The K2 team visited Berlin to shoot in our studio and capture behind-the-scenes footage, adding more context to the collaboration. The skis are screen printed, allowing for bright, vivid colors, which we enhanced with risograph printing. This process, combined with K2’s screen printing, ensures a high-quality finish. The skis are of top-tier craftsmanship, having won prestigious events like the X Games.

This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to pushing the boundaries of functional art. The Omen series merges creativity with sport, offering skiers a design that embodies the energy and thrill of their ride.
